MVC with Extrication W Broadway

On 06/28/2016 at 2308 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a vehicle versus a telephone pole with entrapment of occupants and the vehicle smoking.  Upon arrival crews found that a car had hit a telephone pole head on and broke the pole, the vehicle had four occupants with two patients and one being critical.  Fire Department assisted EMS with getting the patients packaged for care.  One patient was flown from Flaget Hospital helipad.  City electric was notified to make repairs to the pole.  Crews were on scene for about an hour and forty minutes.

Press Fire at American Fuji Seal

On 06/28/2016 at 0810 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of an activated alarm due to a carbon dioxide extinguishing system discharging.  When crews arrived on scene plant management advised the first due engine that they had a press fire that was extinguished by the system.  Crews investigated the origin of fire for extension and found none.  Crews were on scene for about 25 minutes.

Vehicle Fire at 245 and Templin

On 06/26/2016 at 0737 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire at the intersection of 245 and Templin.  When crews arrived on scene they found heavy fire in the engine compartment.  Fire was under control in ten minutes and crews remained on scene cleaning up the roadway.  Crews were on scene for about an hour.

Smoke in a Residence in the 100 Block of Earl Ct

On 06/26/2016 at 0038 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched for a report of smoke in the residence in the 100 block of Earl Ct.  Upon arrival crews found a light haze of smoke in the residence.  After further investigation it was determined that the HVAC unit had mechanical issues.  Crews ventilated the structure and were on scene for about 30 minutes.

Tree Fire 100 Block of S 2nd St

On 06/23/2016 at 1957 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department responded to a report of a tree on fire.  When crews arrived they found that part of a tree had landed on the power lines and had caught fire.  Fire crews stood by until city electric responded and removed the tree from the power line.  Crews extinguished the fire and were on scene for about an hour.

Hazard Mitigation at the Intersection of E John Rowan and Highway 150

On 06/19/2016 at 0922 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of E John Rowan and Highway 150 for a report of a diesel fuel spill.  Upon arrival crews found a stream of diesel fuel going about 100 yards in length.  Crews mitigated 50 yards of the spill and then requested City of Bardstown public works respond with some sand to mitigate the rest of the spill.  Crews were on scene for about 30 minutes.
