Vehicle fire in a garage

On 12/26/2016 at 1618 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire inside of a garage in the 100 block of Daffodil Dr.  When crews arrived they found a vehicle on fire inside of the garage.  Crews were able to extinguish the fire in the engine compartment of the vehicle before the fire was able to get into the structure.  Crews ventilated the structure and were on scene for about 30 minutes.

MVC with entrapment Springfield Rd

On 12/24/2016 at 1341 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a three vehicle MVC with possible entrapment.  When crews arrived on scene they found that they had two patients in two separate vehicles.  Crews provided patient care and had to force open the door of one of the vehicles.  Crews were on scene for about 30 minutes.

Smoke in a residence on Winchester Ct

On 12/21/2016 at 0140 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke in the residence in the 100 block of Winchester Ct.  Upon arrival of first units there was a light haze of smoke in the residence.  After investigation, it was determined that the HVAC fan motor had malfunctioned causing the smoke and odor.  Crews were on scene for about 40 minutes.

Natural gas leak 700 block of N 3rd St

On 12/20/2016 at 1030 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department responded to a report of a strong smell of natural gas in the 700 block of N 3rd St.  Crews conducted an investigation up their arrival and were unable to determine the source.  Crews notified LG&E and turned the scene over to them when they arrived.  Crews were on scene for about 30 minutes.

Smoke in the residence on Allison Ave

On 12/19/2016 at 2102 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a loud pop and then smoke in the bedroom in the 800 block of Allison Ave.  Upon arrival of first units, they did have smoke inside a bedroom.  Upon investigation, crews found that a lamp cord had overheated and shorted out against the back of a dresser.  Those items were removed from the residence and crews were on scene for about an hour and half.

Smoke in the residence at Bard Homes

On 12/19/2016 at 1722 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke in the residence in the Bard Homes complex.  Upon arrival of first units they did have a smoke smell in the residence.  After investigating, crews determined that there was some built up lint inside the dryer that had caught fire.  Crews removed the burnt lint and were on scene for about 45 minutes.

Smoke scare at Life Care

On 12/18/2016 at 0129 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to Life Care for a report of a structure fire.  Upon arrival crews did find a faint smoke smell.  Crews conducted an investigation and determined that it was the heating system that was burning off built up dust.  Crews were on scene for about an hour.

Mulch fire N 4th St

On 12/17/2016 at 1509 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department responded to the intersection of Beall and N 4th St for a report of a possible structure fire.  Upon arrival of first units, it was determined that it was just pine needles on fire under a pine tree.  Crews extinguished the fire and were on scene for about 20 minutes.

Smoke in a structure on Lucy Dr

On 12/16/2016 at 0026 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to the 300 block of Lucy Drive for a report of smoke in the residence.  Upon arrival crews did find a strong odor of smoke and a light haze of smoke.  After investigating crews found some wiring that was connected to the water pipes had shorted out and caught fire.  Crews extinguished the fire and conducted ventilation.  Crews were on scene for about an hour.

MVC with entrapment N 3rd St

On 12/14/2016 at 0817 hours, the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to a two vehicle MVC with entrapment at the intersection of N 3rd St and Old Nazareth Road.  Upon arrival of the first truck company, the found three patients with one patient entrapped in the vehicle.  Crews extricated the patient from the vehicle and mitigated the scene of any hazards.  Crews were on scene for about 45 minutes.
